Citrine birthstone made from commercially available prints and used as a pillow top. Maker: Barbara Brummond of threads run thru it quilt shop (Rustburg, virginia)

Barbara Brummond, owner of Threads Run Thru It Quilt Shop in Rustburg, Virginia, made this exquisite Citrine pillow from the November Birthstone pattern. I love how she matched the color and value of subtle prints from her inventory to the Citrine color chart. These subtle prints “read” as solids, don’t they? And the effect is wonderful. Thank you, Barbara! Visit Threads Run Thru It online and browse all their wonderful products! (P.S. I’m going to be teaching at their shop on March 30, 2019! Denise created an Ametrine! In the world of gemology, an Ametrine is a gem made up of Amethyst and Citrine in the same stone. She used the color palette from both of my patterns in one block.
