I've been invited to exhibit a selection of my gem portraits and demonstrate my charting techniques at the Women's Jewelry Association's annual gala in New York City on July 24th. The event will be held at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. In addition, I'm donating "Copper Queen", a piece inspired by Angel's Envy Distillery (Louisville, KY). Click here to see a YouTube video of the photo book that describes the inspiration and the process of creating it from start to finish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQLZmQurxuE&feature=em-share_video_user.
Join me on Thursday evening when I share my story and diamond quilts with members of the Capital District Modern Quilt Guild. (Quiltmakers who aren't members are also welcome!) I'll talk about my 20-year adventure making giant gem portraits, my inspiration, and techniques.
The event is free to Capital District MQG members and $5 for non-members. The event will be held at Delmar Presbyterian Church (585 Delaware Avenue, Delmar NY, 12054). Click here to go to the CDMQG Facebook page to find out more.
Join me for a full-day workshop with members of the Capital District Modern Quilt Guild -- and other quiltmakers who are in love with light and color. In this fast-paced workshop, participants will create their own singularly beautiful work of faceted light using the same single-foundation piecing techniques I use to create my own diamond quilts.
$65 per person. REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY JULY 23rd. Saturday, July 29, 2017 9am – 4pm , with one hour for lunch break. Click here for registration information.
We'll meet at Delmar Presbyterian Church, 585 Delaware Avenue, Delmar NY, 12054.
